Assiniboine Park Conservancy
Don Peterkin, Chief Operations Officer, graduated from the University of Guelph in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Environmental Horticulture.
After starting his career in the commercial greenhouse buisness, Don joined the Calgary Zoo as Curator of Horticulture in the Fall of 1981. Over the next 28 years, Don assumed an increasing range of responsibilities as a member of the Zoo's Senior Management Team. In his most recent position as Director, Facilities & Horticulture, Don's focus included capital development of over $120 million in construction and facility improvements in the past decade.
JOHN KOZLOWSKI
Director of Facilities
Assiniboine Park Conservancy
John is currently the Director of Facilities for the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. He has an extensive background in operations and maintenance of a variety of facilities. These include large "critical use" computer centres, aircraft maintenance terminals and large office, commercial and law enforcement properties across Western Canada.
He has been instrumental in providing unique project management solutions that
ensure quality, energy efficiency and the introduction of standard operating procedures and preventative maintenance programs. At the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, John is responsible for all facility and site infrastructure, preventative maintenance, deferred maintenance capital replacement program, fleet management and security.
